The tire industry requires seamless solutions for data handling, production machinery to create markings and install RFID transponders, as well as ID solutions for the use in factories and the field. German laser system integrator 4JET Technologies has positioned itself as a solution provider for enabling connected tires. On Tire Technology xpo 2017 the company will showcase several product innovations in this field. Highlights will include live demonstrations of a fully automated Scannect QR code marking system, solutions for code reading with the newly developed Scannect mobile app, as well as tire handling modules for two-sided engraving. The company will also introduce its solutions for enabling innerliner surface cleaning and RFID installation. During the event two papers about the subject. will be presented. CEO Jörg Jetter: “Today the Internet of Tires or Tire Industry 4.0 may just sound like buzzwords, but clearly tire makers are increasingly integrating retail and lifecycle solutions in their business models. While some tire makers lean toward using low-cost human visible QR/DMC codes, others may prefer RFID technology to enable tire connectivity. At the end of the day we believe high-value components such as tires will likely carry both technologies to assure seamless connectivity and traceability. To make this happen, the industry requires solutions covering data encoding, production systems and solutions for reading codes in the factory or the field. We are offering an increasing range of suitable machines, as well as advanced solutions for code reading in factory environments and mobile apps.”
