At K 2019 Desma will demonstrate in live operation on four machines how new solutions in automation, traceability and energy efficiency simplify the production of elastomer parts. The complementary services are of particular importance.
Knowing where it came from – traceability
The industry 4.0 and the associated demand for the traceability of production data are high on the agenda of all manufacturers of elastomer components. At the K, Desma will present a D 968.250 ZO Benchmark 750 S3 with FlexCell.
Data integration of mixed batches by bar code reader and the recognition of the mould and cold runner systems by means of a fully integrated QR scanner, together with the entire mixing data, are documented by the mould history. For the first time, advanced laser marking technology enables reliable marking, even of black rubber articles, in order to guarantee traceability of individual articles. This also makes it easy to replace engravings integrated in the mould, as they are included in a single operation. With SmartTrace, articles can be traced back to the respective cavity – even years later.
Robots take over
It is getting increasingly difficult to find qualified operating staff, making it worth investing in training but also in automation technology. With FlexCell, equipped with a 6-axis robot, any plant can be quickly converted thanks to quick mould alignment/quick fixation and an integrated air cushion system. The PartnerFlexCell solutions are also installed on a D 969.100 Z (S3) with FIFO C high-pressure injection unit. The collaborating robot system has a CE-compliant new safety concept and three-dimensional scanner protection. This enables robots, machines and people to safely work together – without mechanical safety guards.
Focus on energy and resource efficiency
For the first time, the new generation of 2-circuit servo temperature control units Eco Silence+ will be presented. Due to active flow regulation, they respond extremely quickly and precisely and achieve a completely new control quality – with a further significant reduction in energy consumption. The Energy Control+ system with an energy-optimised machine heating phase of the machine ensures further savings. The integrated load management achieves a significantly reduced peak current intake, which significantly determines the electricity price. In addition, all energy consumption of the individual components, including compressed air consumption, is allocated and optimised. Desma’s entire cold runner and Zero Waste concept will also be demonstrated comprehensively in live applications.
One-stop service solutions
Of course, the systems of the processing customer should be available at all times; this is ensured by the Service Commitment Package. Maintenance operations are defined preventively in order to develop a spare parts strategy and prevent machine breakdowns. Through special agreements, such as response times of service technicians, prioritised remote service via hotline or even regularly recurring interval work, individual requirements can be integrated in order to achieve the highest possible availability effect. These and numerous other offers, for example for hydraulic oil management, are tied in by Smart Connect 4.U, Desama‘s concept for machine networking, which was presented three years ago.
