Two-roll mill laboratories mixer were used to prepare EPDM composites based on EPDM/GR blend loaded with different content of waste iron powder (WIP). A notable decrease of tensile strength upon reaching 50 phr WIP is noticed. Filler agglomerates at higher WIP content (detected by SEM) leads to mechanical properties' failure.

Rubber waste arises from the manufacturing processes of its products as well as its consumption. Rubber waste is increasing by more than one million tons per year. Therefore, recycling rubber waste contributes to reducing the environmental pollution. Also, these recycled materials from rubber waste are inexpensive materials to manufacture and contribute to saving the consumption of products derived from limited petroleum resources [1,2].
