Compounds with large cross-sectional thickness must reach a satisfactory “state of cure” by the end of the residence molding cure time to prevent porosity at demoulding. The appearance of spongelike region is a problem that compromise the performances of the cured compound.

Rubber compounds are widely used in the production of both engineering products and technical items and are characterized by their well-known mechanical properties and chemical resistance. However, information about the thermal properties of the vulcanization processes is more limited.
