It was tried to improve the resilience of TPE against heat and pressure. Considering well-known results from rubber, the way was to reinforce TPE with short fibers. Compounding processes without any difficulties are possible with fiber granules.

The crucial advantages of Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPE) are that they have rubber elastic features but they have not to be irreversibly vulcanized like rubber. As other thermoplastic materials, TPE can be formed thermally again and again; the productivity of manufacturing TPE components is much higher than the one of adequate rubber components.
