Rubber is used in numerous applications and due to this, different recipes are needed. For each recipe used, an individual mixing instruction has to be developed. The development of them is often based on personal knowledge. In order to generate mixing instructions in the future, the mixing process was investigated and modeled.

Rubber products are used in numerous areas. As the characteristic of rubber products differ depending on the area of application, there are numerous different recipes based on different polymers, fillers and additives. In order to process the different recipe components into a rubber compound, discontinuous internal mixers or in rare exceptions roll mills are preferred in most cases.
