In this study, it was intended to heal mechanical and fracture behavior properties of recycled poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) by using of polycarbonate (PC) as blend component and epoxy-based chain extender (Joncryl) as compatibilizer.

Poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) is the most widely used semi-crystalline thermoplastic polymer, which is preferred in many fields such as bottles, food packaging, capacitors, etc., due to its transparency, high chemical resistance, and high dimensional stability. However with this widespread use causes significant environmental pollution problems and reveals the necessity of using recycled PET in the industry again. On the other hand, poor performance of recycled PET under operating conditions due to deterioration in the properties come up as another problem which should be overcome.
