Deformation and stresses in a cord-rubber compensator subjected to internal pressure were analyzed. Two finite element models were developed: shell one with composite elements and axisym-metrical one with rebar elements, within which compensator-flange contact was taken into account.

Today, rubber is a commonly used elastomer. Its wide application results from numerous advantageous properties, among which the following can be mentioned: impermeability to water and gases, flexibility in a wide temperature range, resistance to chemicals, high fatigue strength, good damping. The properties of the rubber can be modified by the appropriate selection of the rubber compounds.
